Portuguese goods curated by Pedro da Costa Felgueiras

Editorial / Marques'Almeida

M’A, the young Portuguese design duo, are becoming notorious in the fashion world for their irreverent use of denim, fur, feathers and colour. “What to make of all those fur adornments dyed in fun-fair hues?” British Vogue asked recently. “Enter Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe – and don’t forget Janis Joplin. Marques Almeida were imagining what life must have been like back in the heyday of the Chelsea Hotel….” This photographic portfolio is a little less rock’n’roll, but we like it. M’A selected saudade-shop products that aesthetically “accessorize” their latest colourful collection, and we photographed them at their London studio.
