Hollow Wax Child’s Head

At Portugal’s major religious shrines, one of the things you can do to save/fix yourself or a loved one is to toss a wax depiction of the affected area into a gigantic cauldron as a fulfilment of a vow or as a plea for a cure. With this piece, you could ask for a child to enter your life or for good things to happen to a child.

Cast entirely in hollow candle wax they stand out as a very unique decorative piece. We like them purely for their decorative qualities. Handmade by cerieiros, the crafts people that work in the traditional wax workshops which are now becoming so rare. Made from recycled wax collected from churches and shrines countrywide. Colour may vary.
