At Portugal’s major religious shrines, one of the things you can do to save/fix yourself, or a loved one, is to toss a wax depiction of the affected area into a gigantic cauldron as a fulfilment of a vow or as a plea for a cure. With this piece you can ask for an extra helping hand, to hold someone’s hand and try your hand at something new. Or ask simply for someone’s hand.

Handmade by cerieiros, the crafts people that work in the traditional wax workshops which are now becoming so rare. Made from recycled wax collected from churches, monasteries and shrines countrywide. Colour may vary.
