Stag’s Head

Deer hunting in Portugal is conducted as a ‘spot and stalk’ hunt at several properties in the ancient county of Idanha-a-Nova and in the nature park on the River Tagus.

We have always loved this gentle animal, a symbol of pride and beauty. This trophy is in lustrous reddish brown glazed ceramic which can be hung on a wall or serve as a stand alone decorative piece. It has been specially reedited from the Bordallo Pinheiro Museum collection and is now available at Saudade Shop.

With its leaning head and open mouth it seems to have been caught mid-leap.
